Oregon Scientific, a leading designer and worldwide marketer of personal electronics, is set to launch its award-winning induction charging station for mobile devices at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The Time and Wireless Charging Station uses Qi-enabled charging standard set forth by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). The charging station is a recipient of the CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Award and features a projection clock, weather forecaster and wireless charging station for Qi-enabled mobile devices or devices with Qi-enabled charging accessories.

The station provides reliable indoor and outdoor temperature readings and weather forecasts based on barometric pressure. Even the iPhone 4 can be charged on the pad with a Qi-enable sleeve.

Oregon launched a total of six new products for fitness buffs, outdoor and weather enthusiasts, and the home. A recipient of the CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Award, the Time and Wireless Charging Station will feature in the “Personal Electronics” category, while the other winner will feature in the “Health & Fitness” category — the industry’s only touch-screen heart rate monitor.

Other new products included a portable emergency alert radio that synchs up to the National Weather Service and also a remote weather access platform designed to help homeowners monitor their home’s weather and environment data remotely via smartphone or tablet.

How would you like to simply point and click on the TV that’s connected to your PC or Mac? The Loop pointer is the ‘in air’ mouse that moves your remote cursor with the natural motion of your hand. And of course, it’s wireless.

The Loop pointer works just like a mouse while you browse the Internet or view what’s on the telly. The ergonomic design has just four buttons and a scroll wheel.

Using your computer’s USB 2.0 port, it requires no extra software or drivers. The fast wireless connection even works across large rooms (means it could be very effective in business presentations) and through closed cabinet doors.

Access video sites like Hulu and YouTube. Watch movies from services like Amazon Video on Demand and Netflix. Control applications like Windows Media Center and iTunes. Watch videos downloaded to your computer, or view your own videos and photos.

Weighing just five ounces, it works with computers running Windows, Mac OS or Linux, even with Sony PLAYSTATION 3, and while it will not control games, it is cool for the built in web browser.

How difficult is to get the hang of it? A review says the learning curve can be as small as 30 seconds.

Electric Motion Systems, designer of the E+ electric bike, has teamed with Matra, the French light electric vehicle company, to come up with this marvel of a machine.

Introducing the TidalForce M-750 x2.0 in a limited edition of just 240 units.

Each of which is fitted with an E+1000 watt advanced electric propulsion system and upgraded components throughout, making the x2.0 powerful, rugged and safe.

Off road top speed reaches 30+ mph and range on a single charge is 25 to 28 miles, using only electric power.

All E+ advanced propulsion system features are available on the x2.0 – 9 forward power modes, 9 resistance (exercise) modes, cruise control, anti-theft, etc. Each of these features along with a speedometer, odometer, and battery state of charge are easily accessible through the advanced LCD display mounted on the bike’s handlebar.

Front hub mounting of the battery and rear hub mounting of the motor maintain the look and feel of a bicycle, and provide a very low center of gravity for high stability.

Originally developed for military and law enforcement applications, it uses the Darpa approved Montague Paratrooper folding frame. The limited edition x2.0 is built on the last batch of 240 of these original, new M-750 frames.

These are being made available to US customers by MATRA in collaboration with EMS. Each unit is numbered and will include the owner’s name engraved for a truly personalized x2.0.

An electric bike designed for transport:

The x2.0 is built on a uniquely styled folding frame. In just a few easy steps, the bike can be folded and stored away in the trunk of your car or just about anywhere else.

First off, remove the quick release hub battery pack. Then [click to enlarge in new window]:

The E+ has a LCD display unit that combines functions of a bike computer with that of an electric vehicle. It provides quick access to riding information such as bike speed, odometer, battery charge remaining, and much more.

The E+ display can also be used to enable a security mode that locks the rear wheel, and can be removed from the bike for ultimate security. Plus, it has a LED backlight so the display can be used early in the morning or at night.
